CBI sources said that they found one of Meena's nephews missing since the I-T commissioner was caught. The nephew is employed with the film production house.
Meena was arrested on Saturday for demanding and accepting Rs2.2 lakh from a software professional whom he had threatened with heavy tax liability if he failed to pay up the bribe.
During further investigation, CBI officials found that Meena invested a big portion of the money collected through bribes, in the names of his distant relatives besides his own family.
The CBI started scrutinising the bank account and property details of Meena's relatives by summoning them with documents.
The CBI summoned the MD of the film production house to know some details about Meena's nephew. "We wanted to know how he got the job and if it was on Meena's recommendation," said an official, requesting anonymity.
He added that the agency is investigating if the job was in lieu of some favour shown by Meena to the film production house.
"We are in the process of calling all those whom we suspect Meena had used to hide his tainted money or showed undue favour to, for something in return," the official said.
