Suresh Kothari, who worked at Inlaks General Hospital in Chembur, has not left a suicide note. “Suresh sought divorce from his wife last month. His family members told us that since then he had become very aloof. Even as the family went out for shopping, he preferred staying at home. The divorce had shattered him emotionally,” said an officer from RCF police station.

On Tuesday night, the Kothari family went out to shop for Suresh’s younger sister’s wedding, to be held in May. On returning home, they found that Suresh wasn’t responding to their knocks and phone calls. Finally, they broke the front door open to find Suresh hanging from the ceiling, said the police.

The RCF police have registered a case of accidental death and are checking if there was any provocation that forced Suresh to take the extreme step.
