Domestic help held for stealing Rs 4.5 lakh

Anil Mittal (51), a resident of Mittal Bhavan at Peddar Road, lodged the complaint with the police after he found Rs 4.5 lakh missing from his briefcase. Mittal has six domestic helps. The accused identified as S. Singh, who had been working for Mittal for six months. On questioning Singh, a native of Bihar, confessed to the theft. “He told us the cash was hidden at his uncle’s house. We searched the house and recovered cash of Rs 1.51 lakh,” said the officer.
