Friends mourn 'bubbly' girl

Mahima was one of 40 teenagers who lit candles in memory of their "bubbly and happy-go-lucky" friend at Mount Mary Church in Bandra on Tuesday.

"Taruni was a cheerful and talented girl. She was focused and good at studies," said Sandhya Balakrishnan, principal, Avabai Petit Girls High School in Bandra.

The school will hold a prayer session on June 7 for Sachdev, when classes resume for the new academic year.

Tanishka Pillai, 14, couldn't hold back her tears while lighting a candle for her "best friend".

On Monday, minutes before the aircraft was to take off, Sachdev had sent a text message to Pillai that said: "I love you".

However, Sachdev's flight crashed before Pillai could reply: "I love you too".
