The three men, who are absconding, took cash and valuables worth Rs.4.93 lakh from the victim Sonal Shah’s house.

The Juhu police said the incident occurred around 10am on Wednesday inside Shah’s flat at Cool Breeze building, opposite Kaifi Azmi Park at Juhu.

“Sonal, who was on her way to the doctor, was locking the door to her flat from the outside, when the watchman Lalbahadur Sood, the alleged mastermind of the crime, and his two accomplices approached her from the rear, gagged her, slipped a veil on her head, dragged her back into the house and took gold and diamond jewellery worth Rs.4.73 lakh as well as Rs.20,000 in cash,” said an official from the Juhu police.

The police said they have descriptions of all the accused, and have initiated a manhunt to trace them.
