The high court on Friday vacated an interim relief granted earlier in favor of the special IGP and Assistant Police Inspector Deepak Shinde. While Singh is presently working as chief vigilance officer of MHADA, Shinde is a vigilance officer with the housing authority.

Acting on a private complaint filed by the contractor, Phiroz Khan, the Borivali magistrate's court had in February directed the police to register offence against Singh, Shinde and some others. Accordingly Malwani police have registered an FIR against them. On June 9, the HC stayed the orders of the magistrate court. A division bench of Justice B.H. Marlapalle and Justice Anoop Mohta vacated the interim order when none appeared for the police officers.

The judges also took into consideration that Shinde was subsequently arrested by ACB and large amount of cash and gold was recovered from his house.
