To put an end to applications seeking permission for various functions and rallies at Shivaji Park, the Bombay high court on Friday said that it would no longer entertain such requests.

The high court directed the state government to issue a fresh notification listing functions that can be held at the park, for 30 days in a year.

The court directed the state to invite applications from various organisations who wish to conduct functions at the historic ground in Dadar and issue a fresh notification by November 2013. The notification will be valid from 2014.
