The Charkop police found a suicide note at his home in Hindi stating that nobody was to be held responsible for his death as it was his decision. The note said he had taken this step as “he could not live up to some people’s expectations”.

Mangalani, a resident of Bhoomi Park building, used to live alone, while his father Pitambarlal, wife Sapna and two-year-old daughter lived in Delhi. Sapna works as a school teacher in Delhi and the couple visited each other frequently.

Mangalani went to Delhi on July 9 and had returned on Sunday. The family said he showed no signs of depression.

On Tuesday, he reportedly distributed sweets to his neighbours saying an important work he had been waiting for had come through.

Rajendra Ghag, head HR, HDFC Standard Life Insurance said: “He has been with our company since 2004. He was working in Delhi and moved to Mumbai in 2008.”

His colleagues are in a state of shock after hearing about the incident as nobody realised he was depressed.
