Heavy rains have claimed at least four lives in the district since Wednesday evening.

Several interior areas have been cut off from the rest of the district, administration said today. Palghar-Manor road has become unusable due to flooding and Surya river was overflowing, they said.
At Ganeshpuri, 32-year-old Sudhir Ganpat Naik, resident of Nala-Sopara, drowned. Laxmi Vijaykumar Gupta (3) of Nala-Sopara reportedly drowned in a nullah. At Manor, an unidentified lady aged around 40-45 fell in a flooded quarry and died, police said. At Talasari, Ganpat W Davre (28) was killed in a wall-collapse.
An unidentified person was electrocuted near the Diva railway station MSEB line this morning, police said.
