The fourth round will be declared on July 10. The third allotment list was announced on Friday. As of the third round, there were 641 vacant seats in 15 IITs, IT-BHU, Varanasi and ISM Dhanbad. There were 435 seats on offer in the second allotment.
“Many students who have not got a course or institute of their choice drop out and opt for the National Institutes of Technology (NITs),” said Avinash Mahajan, Joint entrance Exam (JEE) chairperson of the Bombay zone. The IITs usually add another round of counselling every year to fill vacancies.
