At 1 am, Kamlesh Jain was going home on his motorcycle after finishing work in his shop, CP Jewellers, which is opposite JJ Hospital.

When Jain reached the north-end of the flyover, he was allegedly accosted by the bikers who threatened him and demanded cash and jewellery that was in a bag.

When Jain refused to hand over his bag, they started assaulting him.

“Jain said he was being followed since he left his shop,” said Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Kadam.

The police registered a case of attempt to robbery and assault. “Jain said he knew one of the bikers. The police called two people for questioning,” said Kadam.
