Achyut Kale, 54, and his younger son Govind, 25, residents of Gavte Wadi in Yadav Nagar, Rabale district, attacked the victim, Hemant, with a rod.

Hemant was an alcoholic who was unemployed and had regular quarrels with his family over money to buy liquor.

Hemant got into another fight with his family on Saturday, after which, in a fit of rage, Achyut and Govind beat him up.

Hemant succumbed to his head injuries, following which the father and son were arrested by the police.

“As soon as we received the information, we rushed to the spot and arrested the accused. They were presented in court and have been remanded in police custody till February 4,” said Kailas Barve, police inspector from the Rabale police station.
