MBBS student crashes bike on JJ flyover divider, dies

A 19-year-old MBBS student died after he crashed his speeding motorcycle on the divider of JJ flyover at 2.30 pm on Tuesday.

A 19-year-old MBBS student died after he crashed his speeding motorcycle on the divider of JJ flyover at 2.30 pm on Tuesday.

Shashank Kumar, the victim was a first-year MBBS student of JJ Hospital.

Kumar, who is from Uttar Pradesh, was driving with his friend Nishant Gupta (19).

“Kumar was riding the motorcycle in speed. When they reached the flyover he lost the balance of the vehicle and crashed into the divider. The duo fell after the crash,” said Shamsherkahan Pathan, senior police inspector of the Pydhonie police station.

“Kumar hit his head on the divider and fell unconscious while Gupta suffered injuries on his leg,” added Pathan. They were rushed to GT Hospital where Kumar was declared dead on arrival.

Gupta was transferred to JJ Hospital.

A case of rash and negligent driving was registered against Kumar at the Pydhonie police station.
