Nine-day block at Andheri to start on May 29

MUMBAI: The Western Railway will conduct a nine-day traffic block at Andheri station from May 29. Forty services will stand cancelled every day during this period.

MUMBAI: The Western Railway will conduct a nine-day traffic block at Andheri station from May 29. Forty services will stand cancelled every day during this period.

Railway authorities said the block will be conducted on the Harbour line — platform numbers six and seven of Andheri station — to dismantle the two platforms towards the north of the existing platforms.

According to railway sources, the block is related to extension work of the Harbour line till Goregaon.

“During the block, a total of 40 suburban services running between AndheriChurchg ate and AndheriCSTM will remain cancelled. Out of that 30 will be between Andheri-Churchgate, while the remaining will be between Andheri-CST,” said a railway spokesperson.

He added t hat f ive pairs of suburban services, which normally operate from platfor m number seven, will be operated from platfor m number two during the Western Railway block.

These days would also see t he usual disruptions t he railways witnesses every day. Not only will trains remain cancelled on these days, disruptions would also be there during the block.
