Natasha’s mother Roza and one of her two brothers found her hanging in the fifth floor flat of Pelican building at Yari Road in Versova on Sunday.

“We are investigating the matter further to ascertain the cause of death,” said police inspector Kalpana Gadekar.

The Versova police said they will check her phone records and take statements of her friends and family members to ascertain the reason behind her suicide. Sources said Natasha was under depression and was undergoing treatment at Bombay Hospital. A police official said Natasha was heavily dependent on alcohol.

Roza, who lives on the ground floor of the same building, called Natasha on her cellphone to ask her to come down for breakfast but her calls went unanswered. Roza and her son then went to Natasha’s flat and found her body. No suicide note was found in the flat.
