The victim, whose name has been withheld on request, told the police that her employer Suryakant Bait had raped her in September 2009.

A Jogeshwari resident, she filed the complaint on January 15.

“The girl told us that Bait had threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone. But now she has overcome her fear and decided to file a complaint,” said Arun Walture, senior police inspector, of the Koparkhairane police station.

“The teenager said Bait told her they had to attend a meeting and they left in his Innova. But when they reached the Gujarat highway, he told her that the meeting has been cancelled,” said Walture.

“Bait told that his leg was paining and he wouldn’t be able to drive. He then suggested that they rest at a lodge. She says he was raped at the lodge.”

The victim claimed that Bait drove her back to Koparkhairane, but took her instead to his friend Vinod Bhoir’s office and raped her again.

“The victim said in her police statement that Bait again raped her in an apartment at FAM Society in Koparkhairane,” said Walture.

Both Bait and Bhoir are absconding, the Koparkhairane police said.
