“We had issued a notice to the restaurant a month ago and went ahead with the demolition action with the help of Bhoiwada police,” said Kale.

“The hotel has a covered common passage between the two buildings, which was being used for commercial purpose, while another shed had been erected on the second floor on the back side of the terrace space,” Kale added.

The demolition was done with the help of five ward engineers and went on for six hours.

Cabins constructed on this space were being utilised by hotel employees and some other staff for residential purposes. Both the sheds were built without permission, said municipal corporation officials.
