Singh on Sunday had tweeted both Sawant and Kejriwal try and expose but without any substance.

The Goregaon police said Sawant approached them at around 7 pm on Monday with a written application, copies of which she also submitted to the commissioner of police, zonal deputy commissioner of police and the home minister.

Arun Jadhav, senior inspector of Goregaon police said, "We have recorded Sawant's statement in which she alleged that Singh has defamed her. She said that Singh has outraged her modesty by commenting about her in the media." He added that as of Monday, they had not registered a formal complaint and will do so only after seeking legal opinion.

"Sawant's lawyer has suggested a sections the aggrieved party thinks Singh should be booked under, including 354 (outraging modesty of a woman),500 (defamation) and 511 (punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with life or other imprisonment)," said Jadhav.
