Availing of a TPC connection could bring down monthly electricity bills by 20-50%.

In April, the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (ATE) had decided that Tata would have to set up its own network to get new consumers. BEST opposed the ATE decision and moved SC, which, on May 10, stayed the directive.

BEST said in a statement that it challenged the order as its implementation would cause financial instability and make it difficult to run power and transport businesses in future.
