Sea breeze offers respite from heat

A day after the suburbs sweated it out with a maximum temperature of 37.5 degree Celsius, strong sea breeze s brought down the maximum temperature by two degrees on Thursday.

A day after the suburbs sweated it out with a maximum temperature of 37.5 degree Celsius, strong sea breeze s brought down the maximum temperature by two degrees on Thursday.

In the suburbs the maximum temperature was 35.5 degree Celsius that two degrees above normal and the minimum temperature of 16.8 degree Celsius was three degrees above normal.

The Island city recorded a maximum temperature of 32 degree Celsius that was one degree above normal while the minimum temperature was 21.9 degree Celsius.

Officials of the India Meteorological Department, (IMD) Colaba, said the weather pattern is showing signs of getting back to normal and Mumbaiites will have to brace themselves for warm days ahead.

“The sea breeze set in on time in the morning and hence the day time temperatures dipped. The minimum temperature that has remained moderately low in the last week is set to rise,” VK Rajeev, director, (IMD), western region.
