Senior citizen, help murdered in Thane

Sitaram Shroff lived in Regency Height on the fifteenth floor with his granddaughter, who is in her twenties. Around 9pm, Shroff ’s daughter-in-law, who lives in Chembur, came to the flat and saw the door ajar. When she entered the flat, she saw the domestic help, Santosh Lavangare, on the floor with injuries. Shroff was on the bed. The police suspect Shroff was smothered to death while the caretaker was attacked with a kitchen knife. The granddaughter was not at home when the murders took place.
Senior police inspector from Kasarvadavli police station D Tele said: “As of now, nothing is missing from the house. We don’t know the motive of the murders. We are going through the CCTV footage.”
