The police have arrested a 19-year-old boy in connection with one of the cases.
Two men robbed Jaysul Sayyed, 50, around 10.45pm on Tuesday at Cheetah Camp in Trombay.
The accused — Abdul Karim Shaikh, 22, and Dubai Akram, 24 — injured Sayyed with a knife and fled with her purse with Rs. 450 cash.
“Both have cases of thefts and assault against them,” said Sanjay Khire, senior inspector, Trombay police. In another incident at Trombay, Shahul Shaikh, 19, snatched a Rs. 45,000-worth gold chain belonging to Zubeida Ismail, 48. “We tracked Shaikh to his residence,” said Khire.
The Govandi police said two bike-borne men snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 50,000 of Veena Bawa, 65.
Around 9pm, an unidentified man snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 10,000 of Sarla Trivedi, 65, at Sion (E).
At Peddar Road, two bike-borne men snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 30,000 belonging to Shanta Saudarva, 45.
Around 5.30am on Wednesday, two bike-borne men approached 45-year-old Sandhya Patil at Mahim, and the pillion rider snatched her gold chain worth Rs30,000, police said.
Two bike-borne men snatched a Rs. 60,000-worth gold chain belonging to 54-year-old teacher, Shailaja Shastri, around 10am at Ghatkopar (E).
