Six people, including two women and three children, were injured when the wall of a building collapsed onto three huts in Goregaon on Thursday.

“They suffered minor injuries, but were kept under observation at Bhagwati Hospital,” said BT Kapse, assistant municipal commissioner.

The building on Film City Road houses some small-scale manufacturing units. “The units’ owners had propped up raw material such as wood and steel against the wall,” said Kapse.

“The wall was old and could not take the pressure. The police are investigating the matter.”

Kapse said the civic body would write to the Slum Rehabilitation Authority — the building was part of a redevelopment project which comes under the agency — to take action against those responsible for the collapse.
