The general administration department has not been able to produce information on when the towers have come up and the permissions for them. The letter sent to Malabar Hill residents staying opposite the state guesthouse on November 1, has not been able to clarify on permissions for the 14 towers.

“What is the prescribed number of towers to be allowed in a cluster? What should be the distance from a building, school or hospital? How is the rent regulated? What are the health implications,” Chawla said.

HT had reported on July 1 about how actor Juhi Chawla had brought the issue to the forefront when she got an electromagnetic radiation study done and found high levels of radiations hitting her house.
