State official in trouble for violating poll directive

A senior government official has landed in trouble for not allowing his subordinates to join the October 13 Assembly poll duty. The City Collector and District Election office has asked the police to book the government official under relevant law.

A senior government official has landed in trouble for not allowing his subordinates to join the October 13 Assembly poll duty. The City Collector and District Election office has asked the police to book the government official under relevant law.

As per a statement released by Collector Idzez Kundan, Director, Vocational, Education and Training at Dhobi Talao — she did not reveal the officer’s name — did not relieve his staff members for the election duty.

The collector had appointed these staffers through official notification. But, the senior official did not budge.

Kundan said she has asked the senior inspector of the Mata Ramabai Marg police station to file a case against the director under Section 134 of the Representative of the People Act, 1951.
