She has been identified as Amisha Patel.

“We don’t have any information on how she came here and why she did this. Things will get clear once we record her statement and of her family members,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police, Dilip Suryavanshi.

Sources said Amisha who had come to the city a couple of days back had called her father sometime before the incident from a public telephone booth near Navrang theatre.

She had reportedly told him she was in Andheri and would leave for Surat in sometime. But the line got cut.

Her father called up one of his relatives in Bhuleshwar and gave him the number from which Amisha had made the call.

They reached the spot but failed to find her. However, they learnt that an unknown woman had fallen from a nearby building. On reaching there, they found the woman was Amisha.

“We (residents) rushed her to BSES hospital and informed the police. Fortunately she survived and is now in a stable condition,” said Manohar Jain (38).
