Do you think women are safe while traveling in taxis?
In Mumbai, taxis are usually safe for women passengers. Taxi drivers take care of them and behave decently.
Does your union receive complaints regarding harassment of women passengers?
We receive some complaints from passengers about taxi drivers, but have never received any about harassment of women passengers in taxis.
Many women passengers have complained that taxi drivers misbehave with them during journeys.
This claim is absolutely unacceptable. We cannot agree with this. Travelling by taxi is safer for woman in Mumbai than in any other city.
Has your union taken any steps to avoid harassment of women in taxis?
We have never come across such complaints, but if we hear about such incidents, we will definitely take care of it. We will instruct our taxi drivers to behave well with women passengers.
