“I do not regard it as my defeat. It is just that we will not be able to work for the people as we wanted,” said Uddhav. In contrast, he also accepted moral responsibility for the debacle saying that as a result he would once again go back to the electorate. “As an Executive President, I take the responsibility but I am not a criminal. I will once again face the people and gather details to analyze the reasons,” he added. He said that he had committed no crime and was only fighting for the Maharashtrians. “My battle was not for any personal gains but for the larger good of Maharashtra,” he added.
Apart from the media, the press conference was marked by large number of party cadres who were cheering Uddhav after he made dramatic statements like the Sena will only grow stronger and he would continue to work for the common man.
