The police stated they are in the process of ascertaining the identity of the deceased. As no wounds were found on the body, police have ruled out foul play.

The deceased is a Khalashi (dockyard worker) and might have fallen off a boat accidentally, police said.

The Yellow Gate police received a call from the south control of Mumbai police following which they rushed to the spot.

An officer of Yellow Gate police station said, “The deceased was found floating in the water near Sinhal tekdi. It was not decomposed and hence he seems to have fallen and died not long ago.” The body has been sent to JJ hospital for a postmortem.
