US companies are most welcome

Maharashtra government on Saturday told President Barack Obama that it would welcome American companies, who wanted to invest in the state.

Maharashtra government on Saturday told President Barack Obama that it would welcome American companies, who wanted to invest in the state. During the informal interaction at the business summit, Chief Minister Ashok Chavan put forth the request to Obama when he had an opportunity to interact with the latter after Union Minister for Commerce Anand Sharma introduced him.

Chavan told Obama that many American companies had set up their plants in Maharashtra in the past few decades. “The President replied that he had read about Mumbai and the state. He said let us see positively to a good future,” said Chavan.
