Watches worth Rs 60 lakh were allegedly stolen from a showroom in Vashi. The incident occurred in Just In Time showroom of Bawa Towers, that stocks several top brands of watches.

The showroom is situated in a commercial area opposite the busy junction of Shivaji Chowk.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Purshottam Karad: “The theft took place at night. The culprits broke open the shop shutter and took away the watches valued at Rs 59,08,500.”

“The shop shutter is bent. There was no damage to the glass showcases inside the shop. The security guard was asleep at the time,” added Karad.

Around eight people might have been involved in the theft, said the police.

“The showroom shutter is not ordinary. It is possibile it was tied to a vehicle and pulled,” added the police. The showroom officials were not available for comment.
