With the help of a co-passenger, she delivered a baby boy in the train, after which she got off at Wadi for medical assistance. After a basic check-up, she was told by the station authorities to go to Mumbai CST, the last stop of the train, for further aid.
However, her husband claimed that the railway officials in Mumbai did not help them. “We had to wait at CST for over an hour for the station manager. When he did come finally, he just asked us to go back to Wadi for the required documents”, he said.
The mother and child were later admitted to The Cama and Albless Hospital in Fort. Hospital authorities said that the mother and the new born are doing well and will be discharged in two days.
