Youth held for snatching chain
The Malad police, on Tuesday, arrested 24-year-old Lawrence Steven Chitre for allegedly snatching a gold chain of Hilda Piston Loie at Orlem area in Malad (West).

The Malad police, on Tuesday, arrested 24-year-old Lawrence Steven Chitre for allegedly snatching a gold chain of Hilda Piston Loie at Orlem area in Malad (West).
The incident took place around 7.30pm. Loie, 50, a resident of Sanpada, works as a maid in Malad.
According to the police, Chitre intercepted the woman while she was close to Orlem Church. He threatened the lady with dire consequences and fled with the chain that she was wearing. The victim raised an alarm alerting two beat marshals - Namdev Sangde and Sakharan - who caught Chitre a few metres away.
