The lead guitarist of rock band, The Circus, Arsh Sharma, talks to us about the band’s musical journey.
What kind of music does the band play?
As of now, the band plays a hybrid style of alternative rock, which may change and evolve with time.
How did the band come together?
The band members first got together in 2007. Some of us were from the same college, so the connect happened.
Why the name ‘The Circus’?
When we got booked for our first gig in 2007, we realised we actually had no name. We just ended up sending the name ‘The Circus’ to the organiser. He printed the posters with that name, and we had no option but to stick with it.
Which number always gets the crowd going at your gigs?
F.O.P.S , Swindpittle, Gardens (all our own songs) generally end up getting a good response. And so does our version of My Humps by the Black Eyed Peas.
How is it performing in the Capital?
It’s great to perform in the city, although the fun factor in the show is completely dependent on the turnout.
Which are the other city-based bands that you like?
We like Delhi bands such as Indigo Children, Undying Inc., Skyharbor, AVR, HSD, and Menwhopause .
If you could jam with an international artist, who would it be?
We would love to jam with Trent Reznor of the band, Nine Inch Nails.
