Amit Trivedi records song with Sri Lanka's Navy band

There's more to Anurag Kashyap's upcoming film than the fact that it's been shot in a specially-constructed studio in Sri Lanka. We are told that the film's music composer, Amit Trivedi, has recorded a song with the Sri Lankan Navy band to catch the essence of the island country

While filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming film, which features Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, is the newest buzzword in the industry as it has been shot in a specially-constructed studio in Sri Lanka, here's one more reason to look forward to the project. We have been told that the music of the film will also have the essence of the island country as music composer Amit Trivedi has decided to record a song with the Sri Lankan Navy Band.

A source close to Kashyap tells us, “Amit wanted to record a track with live orchestra, and since they were shooting in Sri Lanka, he decided to include the Sri Lanka Navy Band. It was an impromptu decision to add this number to the album as most of the songs were already recorded.”

The source adds that the film-maker and the production team of the movie have tried relentlessly to get permission from the authorities, and they were glad that “they were permitted to record with the band a few days ago”. Apparently, Amit will use the opportunity to the maximum by recording more than just a song. “He will be travelling to Sri Lanka later in July to record the song. In fact, he will also dub some parts of the background score with the band,” added the source.
