He shot to fame with the rustic, fresh beats of Emosional atyachaar in the film Dev D. Indeed, all the songs in Dev D were composed by Amit Trivedi – and all became hits.

He shot to fame with the rustic, fresh beats of Emosional atyachaar in the film Dev D. Indeed, all the songs in Dev D were composed by Amit Trivedi – and all became hits. “It was a brilliant experience,” says Amit. “Anurag Kashyap was looking for fresh sounds and I played six numbers to him that I had composed. He picked all of them and put them in the film without a single change.”

Mumbai-based Amit always knew that music was what he wanted to do. He started with theatre and did projects as a music arranger for quite a few years – till he met Anurag and life changed. Anurag, who was the creative producer of Aamir, asked Amit to work on that film too. Amit came up with Ek Lau which became an anthem after 26/11. Now, he’s beginning to feel the pressure. “I get panic attacks and sleepless nights. The bar has been raised. I hope I don’t disappoint anyone.”
