It was a rocking night with great music and hordes of swaying people. The occasion: The finals of deejay competition ‘Radio Cairo’, hosted by The Olive Bar and Kitchen and Jack Daniel’s.

Three months of competition culminated in the grand finale with deejays Niel, Sanjay and Iggy competing for the crown.

DJ Iggy went home with a booty of Rs 60,000 as prize money along with a pair of speakers worth Rs 70,000 from Musicson. Deejays Sanjay and Niel, who had reached the final round also went home with plenty to be happy about. Well known music director Sandeep Chowta — of Khallas (Company) and Babuji (Dum) fame — and AXN chick Tanya Zaetta, were the judges for the evening.

Iggy has been a common face on the capital’s party circuit. Many would argue he is a better rampwalker (he does modelling too) than a deejay — that, however, was definitely not what the judges for the evening felt. On his part, the winner expressed happiness that he had won the contest. “The music I play is very upmarket... I call it ‘intelligent house’. Those who have been doubting my abilities have been proven wrong.”
