As the International Jazz Day is in its second edition on April 30, this year, the capital is set to join the global carnival happening simultaneously in over 190 member states of the UNESCO.
While Istanbul has been chosen as the host this year by UNESCO, there's reason for Jazz lovers in Delhi to cheer up as well. The music hubs in the city are geared up to celebrate the multicultural festival of the glorious music, Jazz. This year we have Delhi-based Jazz artists in a musical extravaganza along with some international artists teamed up to celebrate this international art form of music.
Says Abhishek Mangla, Bass Guitarist, who will be performing this year, "In Delhi, the demand and awareness for Jazz music is rising. After the 60's there was a major decline in Jazz music and other genres became more popular. We now have the potential to rise up to the musical trends in New York, Berlin or Tokyo."
Tune into the celebrations at Blue Frog, Zorba and Cocktails and Dreams with a great lineup of Jazz artists.
