Famous British Asian pop star Rishi Rich is now all set to take Canada by storm with his rocking performance.

UK’s most highly acclaimed bhangra/hip hop crossover act, The Rishi Rich Project, is going to premier in Canada. The Canadian premier of the Rishi Rich Project featuring the artist/producer Rishi Rich will open on Thursday, 9:30 PM (CIBC Stage)at the Harbourfront Centre in Toronto.

The event is being organised by the free music festival Masala! Mehndi! Masti!, which brings some of the top acts from around the world.

Born and brought up in England, Rishi was bit by the music bug at an early age.  He learned to play classical music as a child, then grew and incorporated his traditional bhangra sound with his favourites – hip hop, R&B, reggae and garage.  He’s worked with some major stars including Madonna, Britney Spears, Ricky Martin, Mary J. Blige, and Craig David to name a few!

After signing with 2Point9 Management Rishi created The Rishi Rich Project aimed at discovering and showcasing up and coming talent.  Rishi came across Jay Sean, a former medical school student turned singer, in 2002 and signed him right away.  Next to join the famous roster was Juggy D and the rest is history!  Known to be UK’s most highly acclaimed bhangra/hip hop crossover act, The Rishi Rich Project is going to rock Toronto!

Some of their other recent works include: “Dance With You (nachna tere naal)” featuring Jay Sean and Juggy D; Britney’s “Me Against the Music” (Rishi Rich remix); Mary J. Blige’s “Love at First Sight” (Rishi Rich Desi Kulcha remix), and more!  You may have heard Jay Sean on Canadian airwaves with his hit single ‘Eyes on You’.
