Sheila, Munni are at war

With Malaika Arora Khan and Katrina Kaif’s item songs — Munni Badnaam Hui and Sheila Ki Jawaani respectively — becoming massive hits, comparisons between the two are a rage online.

The social networking website, Desimartini, started a poll online asking fans to vote for their favourite item girl. So far, Sheila has garnered 1725 votes against Munni’s 1493. An email titled, Five reasons: Why prefer Sheila on Munni, is also doing the rounds online. On Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, where the videos are posted, fans are warring over which item girl reigns supreme.

But, both Malaika and Katrina choose to remain diplomatic. "Competition is most welcome. But, both the songs are completely different in every way," says Malaika.



Katrina, meanwhile, says, "Such a response is unexpected and overwhelming. Though Farah (Khan, director of Tees Maar Khan) was sure about the song becoming a success, I didn’t know what to expect initially."



Choreographer-turned-film-maker Farah Khan, who choreographed both the songs, doesn’t pick favourites either. "Both the songs are like my babies," she says. "I made a conscious effort to make Sheila look different from Munni. The former is westernised while the latter is rustic," says Farah.
