The MTV IMMIES honoured artistes in 24 categories across all genres of music - from film to spiritual music; Indipop to devotional; ghazal to international music including one for piracy detection.

Westlife, Outlandish, Safri Duo, Punjabi MC, Rishi Rich Project, Junoon, Euphoria, Salman Khan, Isha Koppikar, Yana Gupta, Amrita Arora, Falguni Pathak and Bombay Vikings get the crowd grooving to their high-energy performances at the MTV IMMIES Awards in Mumbai.

Truly the biggest celebration of music in the country, the MTV IMMIES had Bollywood stars like Preity Zinta, Jackie Shroff, Fardeen Khan, Karan Johar, Kajol, Dino Morea, Sunidhi Chauhan, Diya Mirza, A.R. Rahman, Abhishek Bachchan, Anu Malik, Ramesh Sippy, Sonali Bendre, Gulshan Grover and Pooja Batra presenting the MTV IMMIES Awards at the delightful show.

Farah Khan won the award in the Best Choreography category for Koi Mil Gaya. Said she, "I love my job. You get to make the best dancer in the country dance and get an award for it. I want to thank Rakesh Roshan, Hrithik Roshan and Preity for making me a part of their film".

Whilst Best Remix Video / Song went to Harry Anand for Kanta Laga/Rao & Sapru Films; a new category - Best Classical / Classical Fusion Album - Instrumental was won by Rahul Sharma - the talented son of Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma.

"This belongs to my father who happens to be my guru. Its extremely reassuring that in today's times in this age of Indi pops, remixes and bhangra pop, Indian classical music is recognised and that's what we are here for. I think this award belongs to all those young people who want to pursue Indian classical music as a career" said Rahul on receiving the award.

It was star power at it's best! One, which was spiced with the comic banter between show presenters - Bollywood heartthrob Saif Ali Khan and MTV's 'Bakra' Cyrus Broacha, had the crowd in splits!

Not surprisingly, it was amongst tremendous cheer that Shah Rukh Khan walked away with Best Performance in a song - Male category for Chalte Chalte. "Its quite an honour to be here for a person who has not sung the song, not written the lyrics of the song or someone who has not choreographed the song. I've just walked around in the song. Although, I'm feeling a little out of place here because I'm quite tone deaf, I want to thank you all as you are so kind", said the king Khan on receiving the award.

The highlight of the evening was a joint performance by two of the sub continent's biggest bands - Euphoria of India and Junoon of Pakistan whereby Palash Sen - lead singer of Euphoria, sang Sayonee amidst cheers of Pakistan and India Zindabaad.

Westlife, Outlandish, Safri Duo, Punjabi MC, Rishi Rich Project, Junoon, Euphoria, Salman Khan, Isha Koppikar, Yana Gupta, Amrita Arora, Falguni Pathak and Bombay Vikings got the crowd grooving with their high-energy performance!
