THANE: A minor boy was detained for molesting an 11-year-old girl on Wednesday at Shrinagar in Thane.

The Class 6 student and the 15-year-old boy, a first year junior college (FYJC) student in a Thane college, know each other for a long time as they live in the same area.
On Tuesday, the girl went downs her building to fill water from the common tap.
While she was filling the buckets, the boy came and started talking to her. The girl initially avoided him.
The boy forcibly took her to a corner of the building, saying he wanted to talk to her.
S Tungenvar, investigation officer from Shrinagar police station, said, “He forcibly took her to an empty room and touched her inappropriately.”
He also threatened the girl, warning her not to tell anyone about the incident.
The scared girl told her family about the incident the next day. Her family first went to look for the boy.
They could not find him and then lodged a case against the minor boy.
Tungenvar added, “We detained the boy on Wednesday. He was sent to a remand home and later released on bail.”
