These institutions were granted recognition and affiliation during the two-year tenure of disgraced former BSEB chairman Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh, now in jail.

Their move comes on the basis of an inquiry, which proved that all affiliation norms were flouted to grant them recognition.

BSEB chairman Anand Kishor said the schools were disaffiliated following investigations into the schools’ claims regarding their infrastructure, number of teachers and other parameters.

“Authorities of the schools and colleges have been served show-cause notice, asking them why action not be taken against them. They have 15 days to reply. We would take further action as per their response,” said Kishor.

The BSEB launched investigations into 213 colleges affiliated during the tenure of Singh, following the break out of the scam. Lalkeshwar’s personal role in selling ranks against payments in lakhs has been revealed in investigations, as well as the role of several BSEB employees and the chairman’s kin.
