NEW DELHI: CPI MP D Raja said in Rajya Sabha on Thursday that BJP and ABVP activists forced the Pondicherry University administration to ban a students’ magazine that published a photograph of Rohith Vemula, a Dalit scholar who committed suicide at the Hyderabad Central University this year. As Raja said that such incidents also occurred in JNU, Union minister Venkaiah Naidu said the two issues can’t be clubbed. “In JNU, students raised slogans in support of terror accused Yakub Memon and co-founder of JKLF Maqbool Bhat,” he said.
