NEW DELHI: The dilapidated Mahatma Gandhi bridge – the only link between north and south Bihar – finally got a new lease of life on Wednesday with the Union cabinet approving Rs 1,742 crore to “rehabilitate” it. The 5.5-km long bridge over the Ganga river has been in a derelict condition for over a decade now with respective state governments failing to do much for its upkeep.
