Mayawati blamed Congress, BJP and Samajwadi Party (SP) for the migration of people from the state post-independence. “The only difference between earlier migration and under SP rule was that during Congress and BJP government, people migrated to metropolitan cities in search of employment whereas under SP rule people are migrating due to terror and lawlessness unleashed by criminal elements,” she said.
“The state government has failed to check migration in drought-hit districts, particularly the Bundelkhand region. Government aid has not reached those residing in drought-hit districts and a majority of them are starving,” she said. JD(U) BLAMES BJP
Refuting the alleged communal reasons behind the “exodus”, Janta Dal United (JD-U) secretary general KC Tyagi also blamed the BJP for giving a communal colour to the migration.
Tyagi called the report of exodus by BJP parliamentarian Hukum Singh as “fabricated”. He said that a delegation comprising parliamentarians from all parties should visit the area and carry out a thorough probe in the matter to find out the reasons that resulted in the exodus.
