KOLKATA: Chief minister Mamata Banerjee will attend the ceremony in Vatican City where Pope Francis will confer sainthood on Mother Teresa who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979. The event is scheduled on September 4. On Sunday, a delegation from the Missionaries of Charity — an organisation Teresa headed — led by Sister Prema met Banerjee at her residence to invite her for the occasion. “I accepted their invitation because Mother Teresa has a special place in Bengal,” Banerjee said.
