Ahmed, a resident of Loni, was arrested here on Saturday after the vehicle owner saw the advertisement for selling his vehicle that was stolen from Noida Sector-21 last year, SP City Dinesh Yadav said.

The complainant Kulwant Singh struck a deal with Ahmed and fixed a meeting with him, police said, adding the accused was arrested when he came for the deal.

Ahmed told the police that he had bought the car from one Zulfikar a few months ago and then decided to sell it off, Yadav said.

The probe in the matter is on, he said.

Triveni Singh, ASP, Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force, said such instances were not new and even stolen jewellery and mobile phones have found their way to online shopping sites.
