Man poisons 39-year-old daughter in Ghaziabad
Initial investigation revealed that the daughter was suffering from a mental condition and this could be the reason for the man to take the extreme step.
A 72-year-old man allegedly poisoned his 39-year-old daughter in Vaishali Sector 1 on Monday afternoon. He then consumed the poison himself as well, but survived, the police said.

The man has been identified as Kesari Lal, a retired government official, while his daughter has been identified as Anuradha.
The police said initial investigation revealed that Anuradha was suffering from a mental condition and this could be the reason for Lal to take the extreme step.
“Lal’s condition started deteriorating after consuming poison. He then informed neighbours, who took the father-daughter duo to a nearby private hospital. While the daughter died during treatment, the man’s condition is critical,” said Atul Kumar Yadav, circle officer, Indirapuram.
At the time of the incident, Lal’s son Shailendra, daughter-in-law and grand daughter were not at home. They were in Chandigarh.
“A forensic team collected samples from the house. The daughter’s body will be sent for post-mortem and further investigation will be carried out,” Yadav said.
He said initial investigations reveal that Anuradha was undergoing treatment at AIIMS in Delhi for a mental disorder. Lal was depressed because of her condition, which may have resulted in him taking the extreme step.
