In the first accident, a 22-year-old MBA student died after the Honda City car he was driving collided with a truck near Sector 60 on Sunday morning. The victim was identified as Kanishk Gupta, who was pursuing his MBA from a private college in Hyderabad and was visiting his parents in Noida.

According to the police, Kanishk was on his way to his house in U-Flex Apartments in Sector 62 after dropping a friend at Delhi airport when the accident took place.

"The overloaded truck suddenly applied brakes, which led to his car colliding with it. The impact of the collision was such that the car's roof came off. Gupta was rushed to a nearby hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead," said a senior police officer.

The driver of the vehicle fled the spot, leaving his truck behind. Police have registered an FIR at Sector 58 police station and have begun a hunt to arrest the driver.

In another incident a four-year-old girl was crushed to death after she came under the wheels of a speeding truck. Alisha was travelling to Baghpat to attend a function with his uncle Akhtar Ali and grandmother Khatija on a motorbike. "When the family reached Sector 122, a speeding truck collided head-on with the motorcycle. According to eyewitnesses, the truck was coming from the wrong side and was speeding," said a senior police officer.

Alisha died on the spot. Angry locals stopped traffic on the road and vandalised the truck. An FIR has been registered at Sector 58 police station. "We are yet to arrest the truck driver," said a senior police officer.
